From the beautiful state of Maryland, we would like to introduce you to Emotion Code Certified Practitioner Jim Stephens. We’ve asked Jim some questions about his introduction to The Emotion Code. He also has advice for those new to TEC and shares his view on Eastern vs. Western medicine, and much more. Please contact Jim for a session by scrolling to the end of our interview.

How did you find out about The Emotion Code and how long have you been practicing?
I first heard about it and received the book from my friend, Susan Crosthwaite, in England who was in the original training in Europe. I began practicing early in 2011 and got my certification on October 27, 2011.

How do you think The Emotion Code compares to other energy healing modalities?
I have studied several others and was involved in EFT for a good year or two. My background is engineering and I was really drawn intuitively to The Emotion Code because it makes sense to me and clearly identifies emotional blocks from the past. I think it gets more quickly and precisely to the energy block. I also like the fact that the client does not have to reveal their deep emotional hurts. I don’t want to do “talk therapy”. I prefer to “fix it” and move on.

What advice would you give to those that are new to practicing The Emotion Code?
I find most new people lack confidence that they can really do the muscle testing and that they are getting correct readings. I think that having someone with experience “hold your hand” for a while as you practice in the beginning can be really helpful. I also try to guide them to calm their mind chatter and let their intuition guide their muscle testing. Practicing muscle testing slowly and carefully until they gain confidence is also really valuable.

What are the differences between The Emotion Code and the westernized medical/drug industry?
People want instant healing when they are sick so the medical/drug community caters to that because the people will pay for it. We are raised on such a materialistic view of our bodies (like a machine), that some other material (like a pill) must be the solution to an ill. Science is gradually finding out about energy healing, better nutrition to fight diseases, even that negative emotions cause illness. The word is getting out, just not fast enough. The Emotion Code deals with the root causes as energy problems so long term relief and health can be achieved and not just covering over the symptoms.

Do you have a healing story using The Emotion Code that you could tell us about?
In my Emotion Code sessions, I often re-experience the miracle of muscle testing that locates a huge trapped emotion. I often tell of one of my very early clients. After we identified the very first trapped emotion, I went after his age at the time. It turned out to be 11. I asked if any memory came to mind. He said that was his age when his mom ran away and abandoned his family. I was just floored. It was the first one. Usually the “big ones” don’t come out at first like that, but when we get to a “big one” I’m always amazed that the Emotion Code finds them so easily and accurately.

If you could tell the world about The Emotion Code in one sentence, what would it be?
I believe that we are living in the beginning time in history when great healing can take place for all individuals, races, and nations and that God is sending to us techniques like The Emotion Code to accomplish that healing so we can all live in love as His children.

Where do you see the future of energy medicine headed?
Energy healing will continue to grow and spread by word or mouth and Internet, and more and more people will be open to it. I have already seen that EFT is gaining government hearings because of the success they are having with PTSD patients from the Viet Nam War who have not been helped in 30 years of traditional techniques. Because it gets results, people are interested. Most are aware that traditional medicine has its drawbacks.
